Commissioned by the Cincinnati Art Museum, Natural World is a collaboration between artists John Edmonds and David Hartt, poet and scholar Jason Allen-Paisant, and organizing curator Nathaniel M. Stein. The project explores meanings of nature and naturalness through overlapping dialogues with history, collections, and institutions. Based off initial design from Hartt, a catalog was designed and published locally. This multi-page publication beautifully integrates two written essays and two photo essays. Balancing impactful photos with abundant white space. Designs within the catalog are reflected in the gallery space: ample white space for photographs to hold their presence; clean typographic based brand with simple cut vinyl application; and beautiful end papers trandformed into a gallery transition between the two artists.
